Baby Bump (blog 2)

As I told you a while ago ,we're having a baby. I already shared my blog on my first trimester of pregnancy. Today I'm telling you all about week 13 to 28 of my pregnancy.

TRIMESTER 2

This was the period where I had many ultrasounds. I was very excited about the belly bump and to see the development of the baby. But sadly, there was no belly bump. The development and growth of the baby was healthy though. It was so great to see our little baby and I was so impressed and emotional with how much it already looked like an actual baby in 5 months. After this ultrasound I was so excited to share it with my family and friends. Their responses after seeing the pictures were so lovely. Everyone was overwhelmed.

But with these happy moments there were other things too. I lost my appetite and had very bad taste in my mouth throughout the day. Experienced relatives said nausea will stop after the first trimester but it got worse. It’s because every woman has different hormonal changes. There was no weight gain and I was worried about the baby's health. “Is it doing well?” “Is it healthy?” were my concerns all the time. But my questions were answered by my doctor every time. We could see the baby moving and kicking in the ultrasound but I could not feel it. The development of every body part was checked. The heart, intestine, bones and brain. Everything was perfect.

The best part of every ultrasound was to listen to the heartbeat of the baby which was so soothing.

Due to prenatal vitamin tablets I had clearer skin. Friends and family complimented my pregnancy glow and I felt happy and shy at the same time. There were physical changes every passing day. I had leg cramps at night which would worsen. Loss of appetite and nausea was the same as I faced in the first trimester but I handled all the symptoms well as I knew I will be holding a baby in a few months and this gave me the strength to hold on.

The best part of the second trimester was I didn't need to worry about maternity clothes as my old clothes fit me perfectly as I had not gained much weight.

This was definitely the best trimester. I felt energetic, travelled a lot, and attended my brother’s wedding. I took the doctor's permission to travel and it was completely fine. Everyone in the family was worried about me during my brother's wedding but I was the most excited one. Our Marwadi wedding's have different rituals that last for 15 days. I participated in all of them and enjoyed it a lot. I danced to my heart's content. As the wedding came to an end, we had a family trip to our religious temple. That day I travelled for about 12 to 13 hours. It was fun. I climbed the hill and the stairs and everyone in the family took proper care of me. I was totally overwhelmed with the love and care provided the whole time. The wedding and the trip was the most memorable one which came to an end and I went back home (to my in-laws). After 15-20 days my maternal family came to visit. As soon as they came we went to Akshardham temple. There we had a lot of fun and also went out for dinner with my newly wed brother and sister-in-law. As they were travelling back they had a plan to visit Pavagadh temple in Baroda. My father asked me and my husband to join. My in-laws were worried about how I would climb 200+ stairs and the complete ropeway trip. But looking at my excitement and care of my family they allowed me to go. As soon as we touched the National Highway I started puking. Everyone got damn worried and offered me different sweet and sour snacks. In no time I was loaded with candies, chocolates, juice and snacks. After settling down I started enjoying the trip. I waited in a ropeway queue for more than 1hour with full excitement and climbed the temple stairs, clicked many photos, had different regional food items and went shopping. The day came to an end. Sadly It was time to say goodbye to my maternal family.

So this was the best and most enjoyable memory of the second trimester, where physically I was very active and emotionally became stronger. I felt like myself again. Stay connected for the last blog of this series. see ya...
